I think you've done a good job, well done!

Well done to have tackled a very difficult subject Karen. I am sure you have learned a lot . At times when things do not go as planed we learn far more. Next time we change our approach and we get better.

I think you have done a great job of a very difficult scene. It’s difficult enough to concentrate on one person, never mind 5. Not surprised you were overwhelmed. Maybe it’s the kind of painting you need to tackle in short spans while having another painting on the go. Not an easy task if you don’t have the space to do this. Hope it doesn’t put you off attempting other ambitious projects as I do think this has been a successful venture Karen.

I would echo Carole’s comments take you time, leave it come back, if you use pencil as an outline maybe try not to to see if this helps. Look at Carole, Heather and John’s work, check out Jim Morris also. Honestly Karen I think it is a really good job the ginger hair on the little boy has lovely tones and shading.

Thankyou for your kind comments everyone. I did have a break away from it when I went on holiday but when I came back my enthusiasm for it had diminished even further. I think it's because I'd started with the man and used an awful skin tint paint which I tried to correct but remained unhappy with and left me disheartened with the painting throughout. I won't be using skin tint again.

Lost my patience with this acrylic painting and ruined parts of it which ended up muddy. It was good to test my observational skills with so many people in the picture but I started to tire of my aim to get it exact.
