A beautiful painting, lovely colours.

This is a really lovely painting Martyn.

The tree n the right needs to be broken up a bit - or you could extend it upwards, but the tops of trees tend to be more ragged that this; and as it's standing against the light, you'd probably see flashes of sky through the branches; paint in a few branches and you'll see where the problem lies. Your other trees are fine: better shape, and more convincing. There are some good touches in this for someone who's not been painting in oils before 2 years ago, and hardly that... just plod on with practice, there's every sign in this that you WILL get to where you want to be.

Special thanks to Robert Jones. I am really keen to read and consider all such good and wise advice, and will therefore put in some meaningful practice (in painting trees) before my next effort. :-)
