Hi Shirley i like this one. Lovely colours ,do you use Chinese white in your watercolours

Hi Dennis, thank you! no, I don't use Chinese white water colour usually, although I do have a tube of it. (I am doing some acrylics paintings, though, which involve a lot of white!)

A really lovely composition Shirley. I love these colours together and the plate and plant are very attractive.

Lovely bright and vibrant painting Shirley.

Love the cheerful colour Shirley and your confident use of watercolour.

Thank you very much, Gudrun, Marjorie, Fiona and Louise. Wish me luck with the acrylics. I'm hoping to get the qualities I like about water colour, using acrylics - somehow!

Beautiful composition and lovely vibrant colours Shirley.

Lovely still life Shirley. I agree with all of the above.

Your lovely still life paintings are instantly recognisable Shirley! If you can, try Golden Liquid Acrylics, they can be used in a similar way to water colour and the colours are very clear and vibrant. Jacksons (on-line store) does a starterset of 10 small bottles at a reasonable price. Lawrence's near you only stock the larger bottles and they are expensive!

The concentration paid off - great outcome Shirley

Love this, especially the yellows in the reflections, so bright and cheerful Shirley.

Thanks, Christine! that sounds a great idea. (I have the Golden thicker acrylics already.) I will investigate! Thank you. :-)

Thank you Carole, Michael, Christine and Dympna for your kind comments. Much appreciated.

Another of your beautifully lively and fresh paintings - super work.

Painted this afternoon with my little class. Two hours concentrating on what is in front of us.
