Thank you Dawn and Thea, that's very kind. I do love painting, (as we all do here). It is so nice to be able to see other people's work, and post your own. I found this written by the painter Simon Ling in the Guardian at the weekend: "...by painting something that is apparently nothing, it has the opportunity to become everything. The simple act of observation is a deep, mysterious and beautiful thing." I liked that.

A picture in which I tried using raw umber as part of my palette. I did not like the muddiness, and felt happier after adding quite a lot of strong colour. (I usually work with the three primaries and let the muddy colours come from mixtures.)

Always loved drawing and painting. Studied biology at UEA, PGCE at Sussex, then part-time art studies at Sussex and Brighton, including printmaking. Before Covid I gave a little weekly watercolour class for 7 years. Now I am using acrylics on canvas and paper en plein air whenever possible.
