Roedean cliffs by Shirley May

I have never painted plein air myself, but that looks a nice place to do it

It was alright, Alan, until a mist came in and the wind blew everything over! Fortunately near the end!

Full of energy and wonderful texture Shirley……I like the hint of pinks.

Great to be painting Plein air Shirley. Haven’t done it for a while but I remember also having my painting blown over, obviously face down, but all part of the fun! Lovely result.

Yes it IS all part of the fun, Tessa, I agree. It is always a special experience.

Super light Shirley and i like the composition guiding you to the distant building and cliff area. Yes painting outside is great, it helped me after cancer and taking our minds off it. I am lucky to have my wife who also likes sketching outside.

Like this a lot Shirley

Great picture , lovely perspective.

Thank you! I love plein air. It is invigorating and exciting!

A lovely day out Plein air painting with Brighton Painting Group today, organised by Elliot Roworth. Lovely to paint together and chat afterwards.

Always loved drawing and painting. Studied biology at UEA, PGCE at Sussex, then part-time art studies at Sussex and Brighton, including printmaking. Before Covid I gave a little weekly watercolour class for 7 years. Now I am using acrylics on canvas and paper en plein air whenever possible.
