Lovely texture and flow in this painting Shirley.

Thank you both. I find it very hard to get anything going, but I must persevere with it. Only just discovered acrylics dry darker. Been watching various demos online, which is very helpful.

That's a great painting Shirley! I paint with acrylics all the time and the secret is that you need to use a lot of paint and very often mix it with white to make the colours opaque( if that is the effect you're after). I also use heavy body paints and starting a painting with coloured under paint helps too. Enjoy acrylics Shirley!

Beautifully done those flowers Shirley, great bouquet.

Thank you Satu and Carole so much for your encouragement. I am off to get a big pot of white and yellow and more mediums. The nice thing about the acrylics is their robustness, whereas my beloved watercolours are a bit vulnerable and perishable. So I shall keep going!

You're there Shirley, this is smashing

And I don't often view floral subjects.

Keep at it Shirley this is a fabulous beginning......a beautiful arrangement of flowers.

Love the petals and use of colours. Keep experimenting.:-)

Another try at this lovely bouquet, a little brighter this time. And learning more about these difficult acrylics, I hope.
