Very expressive and free, Shirley. I found the book Acrylic Solutions: Exploring Mixed Media Layer by Layer by Chris Cozens and Julie Prichard a very good book for learning how the various acrylic gels work and how acrylic paint interacts with the various gels and gessos.

Hi Shirley. Just discovered this other wonderful fantasy land painting of yours. You've certainly mastered this genre, as well as your other various portfolios (I've been having a good browse)! Very well done. Not everyone understands abstract, but I love it. This one exudes emotion, and the colours are in perfect harmony. You have a lot of talent. I'm looking forward to seeing your planned paintings of worthing beach. My wife and I visited Brighton and Worthing a few years ago, and it's a beautiful part of the country. I'd love to try a serious painting of fishermen myself. (The ones I've done are just cartoons). By the way, I find acrylic paint the most versatile of all.

Much appreciate your kind comments, Seok and Ian! Thank you! I'm on the Acrylics Trail.

A first try on canvas with acrylics. I want to play around and find out how to get acrylics to do the things I want.
