What an interesting process Shaun. Must try that sometime. A stunning, sunny, result with an encouraging nod, towards warmer weather. Have been using water soluble oil pastels lately and really enjoyed using them.

This is an interior in my house. I love painting interiors as much as I do landscape, especially during the winter months. I try to keep my paintings quite loose as I would a landscape. I use acrylic paint initially to make a loose start, I then apply oil pastels which I love for their ‘immediacy’.

I try to achieve vibrant colours in my paintings. I work intuitively with large flat brushes - I also try not to overwork my pictures and they are often completed in two sittings. I use good quality acrylics because of their excellent pigment content. I like to interpret what i see in front of me…
