Would you believe it ! Didn't know this medium existed; must be lots of fun and full of surprises. I can see all sorts of creatures here - one is an Afghan hound ! Glad you enjoyed yourself.

Thanks Avie! I saw it as a horse first but now it looks more like a mixture of an Afghan,a horse and a goat.

I saw it as a horse too with a lovely flowing mane! My art group held an encaustic wax workshop recently but unfortunately I wasn't able to attend, those that did however raved about it and produced some really impressive work.

And what a great result - I do like this Satu

Definitely a horse Satu. I nearly had a go at this once, my friend does it and the lanscapes are fabulous, especially mountains and water.

I see a vulture and a horse. Doesn't matter what it is, I really like it very much, especially the colours.

can't do it myself but encaustic is a beautiful medium. I like your horse very much, Satu, and I know that the photo isn't even doing it justice because the camera cannot capture that lovely pearly quality

Thank you very much Christine, Michael, Fiona, Gudrun and Jenny for your kind comments.

A stunning piece, Satu! Looked like a cross between a horse and an Afghan Hound - intriguing, vibrant and full of life!

Thank you Seok very much!

I attended an encaustic wax workshop yesterday and what fun that was. I made twelve postcard size paintings and this is my favorite. You use a small hot iron to melt and spread wax colours on special glossy paper and the results are amazing. Not something that I would do all the time but now and then is really enjoyable.
