Terry & Fiona

This is very good. It's a really good likeness. Terry wasn't just difficult, he was impossible! Having seen yours I realise that my effort bears absolutely no resemblance to Terry and Fiona except perhaps as comedy value !!! Well done to you. Yours is the best yet that I've seen. Hi Satu Thanks for your nice comments. Regarding my attempt at this portrait. You couldn't find it because I haven't posted it. I'm not proud of it.!! Also, in answer to your question, I use Windsor & Newton Artists' watercolours. Louise

I do admire your portraits and as Louise said a very good likeness, I wasn't inspired to participate it has been in the upper 30sC for about three weeks now and it has sapped my creative juices , the house is cool enough but my workshop is impossible, acrylic dries out of the tube. : )

Great portrait and so difficult to do two people in one and get them both looking good. Which competition have you put this in for. I do wish you every success as it deserves to be chosen.

the vast majority of portraitists look for the big shapes and condense them (ie they work from life). To take small shapes and enlarge them, while still retaining accuracy, is impossible. Anyone who made a half decent attempt at this challenge deserves a medal dipped in gilt! And platinum. Enhanced with diamonds. Your portrait, I think, got nearer to the subject than anyone's, especially in the case of Fiona - it's interesting though that most have completely failed to capture Terry: you haven't quite got him, but you've come nearer than most..... I think we should ask Terry to have a crack at it himself, and see how he does.......

Thank you Robert for your honest opinion, I know that I failed Terry ( he looks like Robert Redford in my attempt ) but like you said it was impossible to see his neck and the whole photo was so small but I liked the challenge.

This is a really good portrait and I think Terry will be especially flattered by the Robert Redford good looks. You have captured Fiona beautifully, well done.
