Only one word- fabulous!

Thank you Diana! He was my teacher and, at times, tormentor! :)

Amazing! Truly amazing.

truly unbelievable. Magnificent !

Another great portrait - wonderful use of black and white. Inspiring.

A fantastic portrait Have you won any awards?

Linda - I won third place in a national contest this year, and won a studio full of furniture!!!! I will post it in the next 10 minutes .... hold on.

you should have got first!!That was handy then!!

Thanks! It was handy, for sure.

I admire everything about this great painting, from the pose, the tellingly painted hands, to the walking stick. Is this gentleman still living? And what is/was his name? You must be a professional artist, surely? This work is of a superlative standard.

Hi Robert - no, he was 86 in 1984 - so I doubt seriously if he is still around. He was named Alfred, and was a huge, huge man I am professional in the sense that I get paid for my passion - so yes :) I do mostly commissions, but the series I am currently involved with (Yesterday and Enigma on this site included) is for a gallery. The series is "emotions of women", and for this I hired several models - and I actually love the freedom in this as opposed to commission work which has it's restrictions. What about you?

excellent work .... i love this type of painting

He must off been a very talented person, this is so perfect, wonderful wonderful portrait.

Thank you for the kind comments once more. He was very talented, and a hard taskmaster - but the system worked! There was no room for mediocrity in his training..... :)

It's fantastic!!!! :)

Thank you - I appreciate that! :)

Sarah, I cannot decide which one of your portraits is my favorite - this one, or Yesterday, or all dogs, or..., but I am sure the next one will be a event! I like your style, the perfection of every layer, and the majesty of the finished painting. I do love your old academic technique and respect the fact you are keeping it alive for the generations ahead, hope they will learn it and save it too. So, work hard, eat healthy food, go to the gym, and please, do not forget to upload "Zoe's hat".

Ok, Valia - I have done it :)

Fabulous - best ever

Excellent work Sarah. I especially like the monotone paintings. Well done
