I remember a time Roger when Still Life wasn&#39;t one of your favourite things...or was that the gourd( swan) ? Now you seem on a roll. They&#39;re certainly interesting to look at, the one successfully receding, the other coming forward, 2D becomes 3D. Then I&#39;m intrigued as to how they are upright. And the cloth/ hessian is amazingly portrayed. Not a bad experiment.<br />

Thank you Marjorie...your reflections and perceptions are much appreciated. As for the egg support...a little rubber washer and a little faith.

A real cracker (forgive the pun) and I love the way you have depicted the cloth along the edge

Fantastic still life Roger!

The rough hessian and the eggs are a super show stealer, Roger. Very effective. Brilliant light and shadows. Inspires me to do a still life again.

I&#39;m with Majorie. I find your still lifes intriguing.

No, please...don't spoil yourselves with puns...oooer missus...think you already have! Enough already...there's another. As with many still lifes, especially on POL, this is little more than an exercise exploring shapes in a given space but that's a minefield in itself. Shape? Size? Placement within a boundary? Proximity between inter-relating elements? And that's only the beginning of the fun and frustration. Many 'thank you's' for generous comments on last week's poppy...always appreciated.
