A very Dutch masters feel to this one, Roger - a lovely richness to the colours and super variation in tone as well. Are you sure you have painter's block??

I like the colours very much in this one....I was wondering whether you'd used a light box or if the light was above centre( because of the shadows). Yes, it does have a Dutch feel to it.

Beautiful painting Roger

An excellent painting Roger

I love the simplicity of this image Roger and the little touches of orange in the blue vessels link the compositional well.

The block is gone Roger!! This is fabulous with wonderful mute colours and just enough light to make it look a bit mysterious and very inviting. Well done!

Thank you all for very kind comments...always appreciated and more so because each of you produces work that I mark as quality..painters block or not. Lighting...Marjorie, if you are there...table lamps to work by and illuminate artefacts with bulbs that vary in wattage and Kelvin ( warm, cool). Kitchen tissue to mute and diffuse light...card to deflect light and used as extension tubes to distance light source from subject and other devices too... simple theatricals..<br />

Painter's block seems to be an issue at the moment. I rationalise it by thinking that it's normal during summer months when it's more important to get out than to fiddle with colours and expect every day to be the same. Taking a break is a 'good thing'...but not always easy. Oil on canvas 40cm x 30cm
