Clever title, Dylan Thomas I believe!!

You've brought the gourds ( or, as I insist, birds! ) forward with the change in colour - how did you get masking fluid off canvas?

Marjorie ( h/s)...hello...painted masking fluid over 'birds'...it dries transparently and being rubber based, resists acrylic wash. When said 'a' dries, it peels off like a thin skin..very simple to use, rather like studio gum.

Hmm, I'm not sure of I didn't prefer these when it was a white background!? Not very helpful I know. I do wear glasses so perhaps I need more contrast to see!

Hi Roger, I love it. when paintings keep changing and developing. I have one that morphed many times and kept going back in the cupboard then one day I just knew how to finish and did. It's one of my favourites now! I like the dark background but may be worth considering grounding the gourds/ birds on a surface, like it anyway.

After good counsel from a very helpful soul, decided to flog it one more time and try a tinted wash...several tinted washes in fact and a lot of masking fluid. The good news is that the technique works...as for the title....first correct answer gets the painting...don't say that non of you know!! Ok maybe a singed copy....oil on canvas 40cm x 30cm Better viewed large.
