16" x 20" acrylic underpainting for an oil. I'm working from a plein air pastel, painted in February. I'm always striving to work more loosely and for the result to look more "arty." I'm sometimes tempted to leave these underpaintings as they are. I've decided to continue when this stage is dry but I MUST keep to a limited palette, loose brushwork and big blocks of colour.
