I recognised this straight away Rodger, you have caught the 'run down' feeling really well. I don't know if you spotted my attempt I posted a few days ago?

Lovely watercolour Rodger

I recognise this scene as well having just got my copy of Leisure Painter today, excellent capturing of the Blacksmith's shop Roger, great colours in your pen and wash

I like this. Well worth the effort.

This a great - love all the detail and your treatment of the scene. I have just finished my version and am waiting for decent light to photograph it. I have been interested to see how differently everyone has approached this exercise.

This painting is based on a photo by Tony Underhill. (LP January 2014 issue). I tried to achieve a detailed tumbledown look by some exaggeration . I used a dark sepia Pitt artist pen and watercolour on Bockingford Paper. I felt that the background trees needed to be kept soft and pale with no pen detail.. This was a fascinating subject which proved to be quite a challenge.
