Well for a first attempt do not give up, this is wonderful. Fantastic natural work on the fleece which is just right. sheep have shaggy bits and haphazard areas and you have worked these in and I love the curly bits. Well done.

As Lin says, a great first attempt with pastels, you should try more! You have caught that 'goofy' expression they often have so well.

thank you for your kind encouragement, I have done more pastels after this one, some of which are here on display, it was because I felt the lamb amazingly actually looked like a lamb...that I carried on, the cow in this folder and the gorilla were further attempts, and the cat was a commission ( hurrah!) followed but the cheeky bird!

If this is a first attempt then I am amazed as it looks so accomplished and confidently done.

And its a really good one , just lovely.
