Beguiling, Richard. I like the square format and the flashes of light looking through the lovely darks. Is this lots of layers/scumbling etc?

This was my first non-representational painting. Yes, Pat, it has many layers of wet over dry scumbles. I kind of wandered around until I figured out where it was going. It turned out to be one of my favorite paintings. Kind of a thought going through my mind as I worked on it was, the organization of the universe as matter and energy were being directed.

Thanks for replying to my query - get it framed (gold or darkgrey/black maybe?) and get it up in an exhibition, I'm sure it will selll. I also like your representational work, but the painting above has great impact. I've done these methods before, but your mark making is much better than I have done. Superb painting.

Thank you for your kind words. It is currently hanging in a gallery. It has a black shadow box frame. I wish I would have used a gallery wrap. I had a giclee' print made to hang in my home, using a gallery wrap, and it looks better that way. It was a fun painting to do - just painting color, working the transitions, varying the temperature and value proportions.
