South Lakes Muscovy Duck

Muscovy Duck

I immediately recognised this as one of yours, Richard. A beautiful addition to your lovely gallery!

Thank you Mia. He certainly was a worth a photo and sketch.

You are so good at giving your birds characters Richard. He looks a very portly drake.

Nice one, Richard - love the magenta/red on his head.

Thanks Fiona and Jenny and yes he was portly and very tall. There were so many different breeds on the pond / lake, including Geese.

That eye suggests being startled, caught unawares. What was he/she up to? Like the touch of colour. Just needs a hint of shadow to anchor it to the ground.

Hang on Studio Wall

Saw this Muscovy Duck in the Grange Over Sands Ornamental Duck Pond / Lake last week. Am no expert on Birds at all but there was a huge variety of species. Saw this handsome bird and it was well worth a photo. Surprised how big it was ! Black and Coloured Pens on A4.
