Brilliant! it must take you hours to complete a painting. I wish i could find the time for this commitment! love it!

Thanks, Wenda. I really appreciate your comments. And yes, my paintings do take quite a lot of time to complete - anything from 10 - 80 hours. But as I love painting, this is never a problem.

Love it Richard, I'm a Andalus resident and the wild flowers are just coming into their own alond with the Almond blossom, the best time of the year and you have certainly caught it in this painting

Paul, Thanks for your kind comments. We love the wild flowers when we visit the house in the spring. We've only visited during the almond blossom season on two occastions, although I gather the wind in Orgiva this week has blown most of it off the trees and into our swimming pools! Best wishes with your painting.

This is a scene that I caught while visiting our house near Orgiva in Southern Spain. On a sunny day in May 2009 I was driving up the hill to the house and noticed the poppies blooming in an olive grove just beside the road. I parked my car, grabbed my camera and went exploring in the grove. I knew that I just had to paint this, so I took a series of shots, one of which provided the basis for this painting.
