More of these - the way the colours merge in this one works well; and the bright colour and stronger marks in the foreground help with the perspective. In time you will probably want to define things more, tighten up the drawing a bit; but I like the way the paint bleeds from the base of the trees into the greens above, and the more distant fields where you've let the paint work by itself without pushing it around. Kitchen paper is always better than loo roll for dabbing out clouds; and that's worked out well too.

thank you again Robert :-) The Brusho watercolours as Sylvia advised me in another painting, do merge much better than traditional watercolours so you do have to watch them at times and not put too much colour on as it's like working with inks, alot of wet :-) the fields i added in individually with a smaller brush (liner writer 2 from the SAA) but once everything was reasonably dry. :-) i was concerned about doing more of these as it could be boring for you all....... :-p

Nice these last two. It is never boring to see work develop.

Hi Gudrun :-) i am happy you wanted to comment on one of my paintings, thank you :-) i was concerned if i do more they could be similar in look, and thus, be boring :-p i cannot recognise if my work is developing from picture to picture, so i appreciate your comments :-)

Thats a cracking sky you have there Rebecca. Well done. For my taste, a little more definition in the middle ground, but remember how you did that sky and use it to your advantage in the future.

thanks again Tony :-) i appreciate your advise and comments , and thank you for looking :-)

Grand stuff Rebecca, nice blocks of colour. It always helps, in drawings and paintings, not real life, to leave gates open so we can walk through into the lanscape beyond. That bold strip of bushes and the gate stops us in our tracks. Perhaps no gate, just a gap in the hedgerow. Excellent treatment of the bushes, convincing darkness at their bases mereging down into the field...I find the most convincing part is the sky and especially the patchwork of the hills. best mick

Thanks Mick :-) the problem is i cannot draw open gates :-p i am pleased you like the sky and the fields :-) i like the sky too :-)

Watcha Rebbecca, neither can I so I often just put in a rough indication of the gaate posts, and leave a gap. There is no one standing over us waving a big stick, we are in charge. My last up load with the bridge as a bold band across the river, I put little, misty indications of activity through the arches

ah ok Mick, i will try this suggestion :-) just add gate posts....... i will try :-) thank you :-) and i will have another look at your last upload and see what you mean :-)

Lovely painting Rebecca, great colours

This again Lana watercolour paper, roughly A6 in size. I used Brusho watercolours. This took longer to dry than it did to create, no more than perhaps 10 minutes because i had to wait for the sky to dry before i could add the fileds. I added in clouds when the sky was still wet using kitchen paper. :-)
