This is a great apple shape Rebecca. I like this drawing best. You have observed the light and shadows on the surface very well, and have also created the cast shadow. I think in your other apple drawing the cast shadow ought to be behind the apple as you have a little light falling on the front of it. What I also like about this drawing is the fact that you have observed the tiny sliver of light where the apple meets the cast shadow. Well done Rebecca.

Rebecca, I have just looked at Steve's apple that you have also commented on. Do you see how he has made the apple appear to sit on the table by making the area directly underneath it really dark? I think you could do that with your apple too - it will help to 'ground' it so that it doesn't appear to float on the page.

Your studies are coming along nicely, Rebecca!

Hi Julie, thanks so much for commenting :-) i am really pleased you like the apples i am attempting, i have been drawing apples all of the week i have been away :-p and will be uploading more soon :-) i will give the advise a go, the shadows are very difficult, especially the casting shadow, as this has to be darker, but so does the surface it is on........ the cast shadow ends up blending into the surface :-p Steve's apple is far better than any of mine put together :-) i will give your advise a go and i thank you for taking the time to give me the advise, thank you :-)
