It is found in Angola, Burundi, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Malawi,Mozambique, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zambia. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry forests, subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, and dry savanna. 14 cm; 6–9 g. Small, dainty and slender blue flycatcher with blunt crest and long graduated tail. Male is almost entirely blue, crown streaked whitish. Song a short, pleasant but rather jumbled warbling series of jingling notes.
