SENEGAL GOLDEN DARTLET.....WATERCOLOUR....schnura senegalensis, also known variously as Common Bluetail, Marsh Bluetail, Ubiquitous Bluetail, African Bluetail, and Senegal Golden Dartlet, is a widespread damselfly of the family Coenagrionidae, native from Africa, through the Middle East, throughout southern and eastern Asia. The species is found in slow-stagnant or leisurely flowing water bodies and tolerates both disturbances and pollution but is absent from intact forest areas. Face: Its eyes in upper side black; underside pale green to yellow; two bright blue spot present behind the eyes. Wings: Both have a transparent wings; with diamond shaped and black forewing and dull white in the hindwing. Thorax: Bronze backed with pale green sides and yellow underside; narrow stripe on sides is pale green to bright yellow bordered by broad black band in male; the thorax has pale green stripe and brown band instaed of yellow stripe and black band of male. Abdomen: 1st segment is pale green; 2nd is azure blue with steel blue black on upper side; 3rd-7th are bright yellow with black upper side; 8th and 9th segments are azure blue with black upper side in male; abdomen are pale brown with black markings; and lacks blue markings found in males.
