Grey-throated Minivet (Pericrocotus montanus) is a species of bird in the Campephagidae family. Usually considered conspecific with Grey Chinned Minivet[P. solaris,] but differs in its much darker grey throat ; and very different call or song, involving a higher pace , larger frequency range per note and distinct note shape . Two subspecies recognized. Subspecies and Distribution • P. m. montanus Salvadori, 1879 – S Malay Peninsula and W Sumatra. • P. m. cinereigula Sharpe, 1889 – N & C Borneo. 17–19 cm; 13•5–16 g. Adult male has entire head, mantle, scapulars and most of wings glossy black, with back to uppertail-coverts orange-red.
