The sapphire flycatcher (Ficedula sapphira) is a species of bird in the familyMuscicapidae. It is found in Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, India, Laos, Myanmar, Nepal, Thailand, and Vietnam. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist montane forests. Lenght10–12 cm; weight 7–8 g. Small, delicate, slim and small-billed flycatcher, male with blue upperparts. Male nominate race breeding has bright ultramarine-blue forehead, Song a series of short rattles introduced by several thin or high-pitched notes, “tssyi tchrrrt.
