The mountain bulbul (Ixos mcclellandii) is a songbird species in the bulbul family(Pycnonotidae). It is often placed in Hypsipetes, but seems to be closer to the type species of the genus Ixos, the Sunda bulbul or green-winged bulbul (I. virescens). It ranges across the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia, and is not considered a threatened species by the IUCN. It is found in Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, Hong Kong, India, Laos, Malaysia,Burma, Nepal, Thailand, and Tibet. Its natural habitat is broad leaved ever green forests, 800-2590 m. Other common names:Rufous-bellied Bulbul, Green-winged Bulbul, McClelland’s Bulbul 21–24 cm; 27–41 g. Large, noisy, conspicuous bulbul with long slim bill, large square tail, generally bright olive above, with strong chestnut tone on underparts. Song in India (nominate race) a repetitive,
