The dusky eagle-owl (Bubo coromandus) is a species of owl in the family Strigidae that is widespread in Bangladesh, China, India,Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, and Thailand and listed as being of least concern by IUCN. 48–53 cm. Large, greyish owl with prominent ear-tufts rounded at tips. Pale facial disc framed by narrow black lines; above, dark brown with greyish tinge. Accelerating “wo wo wo wo wo-wo-wowowo”, becoming softer with each note. Like to prey birds, especially crows (Corvus), but ranging from pigeons and doves, parakeets, coucals (Centropus) . Affects watered and well wooded tracts. Mango tree groves, and old tamarind and other densely foliaged trees are preferred. Parochial and a pair often inhabits the same grove year after year.
