The Rusty-fronted Barwing (Actinodura egertoni) is a species of bird in the Leiothrichidae family. It is found in Bhutan, China, India, Myanmar, and Nepal. Its natural habitats are temperate forests and subtropical or tropical moist montane forests. The Rusty-fronted Barwing is distributed from Nepal, Bhutan and north-east India into Myanmar and south China. It is found in broadleaf, evergreen forest and is often associated with bamboo. It forages for insects, berries and seeds in the undergrowth and mid-storey of the forest and forest edges. It is usually at between 600 and 2,400 metres altitude. It has a rufous forehead and front to the head, an unstreaked grey crown and nape and an unstreaked brown back. The wings are barred black and the tail is long and has whitish tips. The bill is yellow. It moves around in small bands often with laughingthrushes and we found that Greater Rufous-headed Parrotbills Paradoxornis ruficeps were most easily seen when foraging with Rusty-fronted Barwings.
