The yellow-bellied prinia (Prinia flaviventris) is a species of bird in the Cisticolidae family. It is found in the Indian Subcontinent and much of Southeast Asia. It ranges across Brunei, Cambodia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam. 12–14 cm; 6–9 g. An attractive, fairly distinctive prinia with long graduated tail. Nominate race in non-breeding plumage has crown, nape and side of head grey coloured. Food chiefly insects and their larvae, mostly small flies (Diptera), grasshoppers and crickets (Orthoptera), ants .
