Lovely pen and wash, CP.

I was drawn to this when I saw the thumb nail and it doesn't disappoint. I'd perhaps like to see more intensity of colour in the foreground to lead one's eye to the receding background. A lovely, typically English scene.

Your tonal work with the mid distance greens is impeccable, but you need some darks, perhaps with spattering, to bring your wall forward.

Another hint to create the effect of light. Your fence would appear light against the darks behind and dark against lighter areas. This technique is called counter change.
