wonderful painting, Brian. The monochromatic style works a treat, reminding me of WW2 movies. There's a beautiful fluidity to the sea especially where it meets the shallows and outcrops. I like how the horizon fades to the east and especially enjoyed the breaking surf. There's also a balance that reminds me of the golden ratio, but as I never really understood what that meant, I'll leave it at that. Well, ok, your top left and bottom right seem to be working together, as is the 1/3 and 2/3 split of sky and sea. There, that's about the extent of my ignorance. Best JJ
