The Engine Builder by Pete Underhill

It's fabulous and congrats on the award and the sale

Wonderful portrait.

Stunning artwork.

Just simply superb, Pete

Such a beautifully detailed face painted with wonderful skill Pete.

A description of your detailed process - obviously it's a bit late for a video demo on this one, but if you ever do film your progress, do let us know - would be almost as interesting as the portrait itself. I presume there's much layering, wet on dry; it's absolutely brilliant, and you have the prize to prove it (and the sale).

Wow! Amazing.

A portrait of Stuart Rolt, a builder of classic race engines. 14"x11" oil paint on ACM In the background, there's a view of the Paddock at Shelley Walsh and, in the upper part, an engineers drawing of one of Stuart's favourite engines - the Ford BD. This small portrait was awarded the Zest-It Prize for Painting in the 2018 Leicester Society of Artists Annual Exhibition. The painting was sold during that exhibition to a tourist en-route back to Germany and therefore I no longer know where it is.
