Tom
Graphite on Cartridge paper. I've been practicing my drawing skills today in preparation for the Colin Pethick portrait workshop tomorrow. Drawing people is not my strong point and I've decided to push myself to do more whilst in lockdown. This is Tom, my Father-In-Law, taken about 40 years ago. In real life the shading is more subtle. Taking a photo seems to harden the image somehow when in pencil. He will be the subject I'm attempting to portray in oils.
