Bread, cheese and onions

This can't possibly be a painting; it has to be a photo. Are you sure you didn't upload the wrong picture by mistake? LOL It's incredible.

Well, I am confused as well. It looks like a photo. But I found your website Peter....incredible work.

Well, this is just incredible - the texture on everything in this still life is smashing. I would be interested to know how long this took you to achieve. Excellent.

I can only agree, very well done, I tend to use pastels in a much looser way but this shows what can be done with an interesting still life in the opposite way - reminiscent of some of the old master paintings.

What a superb portfolio. That sound you can hear is me throwing my pastels away in a hissy fit. You're not doing my ego any good :)

Ditto to all the other comments. A master at work.

Amazing beautiful art.

wow! this picture is fantastic. i'm jealous! i havent been able to master pastels yet!

Thank God I'm not a pastellist.... could never compete with this!

Congrats! This is stunning, love all the textures. I'm off to see your website!

Thank you all so much for your wonderful comments, very encouraging words. The painting took about four days to complete.

Absolutely wonderful stuff. You could pick that cheese off the page and eat it. And the texture on the onions is so realistic! Jean

The precision of work in Pastel is fabulous ! The bread is so very well painting with the onions.. I love your work !

Wonderful work Peter

I'm speechless! So speechless in fact that I might take my pictures off the website! I feel a fraud really thinking they're good enough! Some of your pastels are so fine art that I can't believe they are pastels - my pastels are like crayon drawings! I suppose its the quality you are using but you also need the 'eye' which you have well and truly got! I re-iterate what Alan Stevens said above LOL! A really brill portfolio - stunning pics, all of them! Well done!

I also re-iterate what Jean Lacey says ie that you could just pick that cheese and bread off the board and eat it! They are so realistic - and it only took you 4 days to complete? Wow

Original pastel still life using soft and hard pastes plus pastel pencils on a pastel surface similar to fine sandpaper.
