I retired in 2002 and started to paint and I took a photograph of this corridor in an abandoned convent in Peru in 2003 on my way to Machu Picu. It was a wonderful place for colour and this blue corridor just hit me between the eyes. The colours shapes and shadows were so beautiful. I have only just developed the confidence to paint it, I hope you like it too.
