I painted this portrait of my lovely, gentle and kindly Mum in 2003. She was suiffering from Alzheimers at the time and it was hard for her to communicate. For something to pass the time I said 'Shall I paint your portrait Mum?' She nodded approval and sat for me while I chatted to her. Mum passed away the following year aged 89 years. I am so glad I painted her that day. Love you Mum.
