This has to be one of the most famous cricket catches of all time. Placed at short leg during an England versus South Africa test match, James Taylor was positioned to catch balls fended off by the batsman. What made this catch so remarkable was that the batsman had clipped the ball away and headed off, never expecting what happened next. Taylor, with lightening reflexes, flung himself off to his right, arm extended, taking the ball securely in one hand. Described by Stephen Brenkley in the Independent as "a glorious sight to behold" (January 2016). This is my interpretation of that special moment. I have drawn it in charcoal with a dash of red pastel for the ball on Canson Mi Teintes pastel paper.
