Beautiful paintings, David. Well done.

Super loose and colourful painting. Love your paint handling technique.

Two really interesting paintings, using watercolour at its transparent best and imaginative use of colour - the dog is, basically, purple: and yet is completely believable.

Your two paintings of the dogs are both painted beautifully I like the technique which makes them unique. No pun intended.

Both beauifully painted and artistically rendered. Really super.

Many Thanks for the positve comments.Colour is obviously an important concept for all us artists. The litmus test to me is that colour should be at the point of evolving(forgive the over used term) into something else,or animated in some way.I dont think we need to use very bright colours for this to happen.

Very loose and free with a lovely use of colour, and of course a wonderful subject. Rupert looks just like my dog. How old is he, and is he from Ireland by any chance?

Rupert is a lovely dog. We have no idea how old he is, although we estimate about 5 or 6. Assistant editor to The Artist, Deborah, found him abandoned near her home in Kent at the beginning of the year, when out walking with her 2 existing rescue greyhounds, Queenie and Dillon. Despite her best efforts no owner could be traced and so Rupert was adopted into the family and has settled in well. Sadly Dillon died a few weeks ago, so having Rupert was perfect timing as a companion for Queenie.
