Hey Karin, great to hear that you substituted some of the colours to suit what you had available, that's exactly what this way of working is all about. And your choice of yellow has worked really well. My favourite part of your painting is the 'negative' painting of white water creating the rock shapes in the middle foreground, and particularly the sea shadow under the rocks. Excellent work Karin!

Karin Combrink sent in her version of Sennen Cove saying: 'Thanks again for a wonderful magazine, full of inspiration for the new year. I paint almost exclusively in oil, but recently did a watercolor course and loved it. I decided to experiment more with acrylics in the new year, and was delighted to see the article by Glyn Macey as well as the new series by Paul Talbot-Greaves in the January edition. This is my first attempt at the 60-minute seascape. I used Titanium white, Ultramarine blue, Prussian blue, Cerulean blue, burnt sienna and arylamide yellow. I added the yellow to the mix since I did not have the pthalo blue and pthalo green that Glyn recommended. I have not added the toothbrush splashes yet, need to practice that some more :) I used Glyn's photo for this painting, but I am happy to report that today I bought the pthalo's and I am off to the beach to try my hand at a plein air seascape of my own. This was exactly what I needed to get me going for the new ye
