A smashing painting love the autumnal colours how did you manage to get so much detail with pastel on small paper

There are touches of Arthur Rackham here, the combination of line and colour - do you ever work in line and wash, or watercolour?

Thank you for your comments.Yes Robert I have worked quite a lot in line and wash.In this painting I have fallen back on my old faithfull which is a soft carbon pencil to delineate the rocks in foreground.I Use this pencil somewhere in nearly all my paintings.

Sorry I should correct my last entry(touch of age)The pecils I use are soft or very soft charcoal,not carbon. Point of interest nearly all my Greens are worked over a layer of Red!
