I like this painting. It depicts a bright, crisp day, with people moving briskly to keep warm.Lovley background

I agree with Helen, the figures stand out really well against the pale washes of the background. The goose looks as though he's got his eye on some titbit! I also like the dry brush work on the legs of the closer figures - gives a sense of movement.
