I love the way the bee is posed on the flower, getting on with its necessary work. A painting you should be very proud of Olga.

I really wanted to paint a bee, so I decided to do Emma Colbert's. I've known her for years; she taught me how to work with Hanhmuler velour paper, a tricky paper to work with in pastels, which I admit is now my favorite. I used it for this piece.
