Martin Norford

Biography

I'm self taught. Firstly as a draughtsman. Secondly as an very, very amateur artist. Limited for time. I generally make simple quick ink outdoor sketches. Adding washes on the spot or later when time allows. My ideal drawing is one that captures the moment, that can be recalled many years later. Tells a story. Reminds me of the people at that place and feels as if you could walk into it. I have to admit I'm partly colour blind, for me its reds and browns. for example on a snooker table, the reds and the brown look almost the same, it was a fateful day I failed a colour test to be an electrical engineer. thank goodness as it turned out!! I don't take my efforts at all seriously. I would rather raise a smile than an accorlade.
