Put it away for a while and come back to it, and you'll see whatever might be wrong: I'm afraid I can't help, because I clicked on it thinking 'that looks fabulous', and I still think it's fabulous now. I could pick holes in it - the far bank doesn't completely convince me, and the area behind the boat is a little puzzling: it looks rather as though it's standing up, and not flat, receding towards the deeper water. It would be well within your obvious skills to correct the latter, and maybe the former is only a problem because you've invited us to gaze at the painting critically (also bear in mind I'm one-eyed at the moment, and that is distorting things for me a bit). If there's a problem with the boat, that lies beyond my area of expertise - boat fanatics will ALWAYS find something to criticize in any painting of them, but I like it - it's a dumpy little boat, chunky and appealing. In short - I think this is a fantastic painting, the sky and water are beautifully done, I like your boat, and am only venturing criticism because you've requested it. I'm sure you'll identify the areas with which you're not happy if you stop staring at it for a bit, and come back to it afresh.

Thank you Robert I think you are right I should put it away for a bit. The far bank is Steart island just a sandbank really & now you have pointed it out is far too big but as you say leave it a while, Thank you for looking & I hope you will be seeing well with two eyes soon

thank you Annette
