Thanks, Heather. The palette and strokes change a bit, dependant on the source. It seemed to work for this series.

I stood in an old limestone quarry by the side of the river Clydach, gazing across at the old Blacksmith's shop that later became a pub and then a private house. The scene captivated me and I painted it many time since - often with just a slight deviation of view point or a change in lighting and weather conditions.
