Pastel Orbs

I love that you are getting so much more confident now Donna. A mixture of marks with these pastels - blending and scratching. How did you like working with them?

Thanks Adele - I did like working with them very much I find that I can cope with them better than the oil ones. Am I right in thinking that it should be sealed or something to prevent it rubbing off ?

Some people use a pastel fixative Donna - a spray but it darkens the pastel a little. I once sprayed a picture I did and blew the pastel away!! Some people don't fix it but it has to be handled carefully. However you can place a piece of paper carefully over it and press your hand gently on top to push it more into the paper. As you know, I am no expert on pastel, why don't you see what other pastel artists do on the forum.

This doesn't appeal to me as a pastel subject although I like it a lot and is a very delicate image. Good strong acrylics would work - but that's me.

Bob you know how I like to experiment with new things. Derek this was one I had planned to do in acrylics but was itching to try out my new pastels - I will be doing it in bold acrylics in the future. Thank you Sylvia for your comment ;-)
