Oil on canvas. The background of this picture was painted several years ago. I always thought it looked like a city on fire. So I thought of the idea of the soldier standing alone in the foreground. A last man standing. This is actually a detail of the painting. It's not so easy to see the soldier clearly when viewing the full image.
