Lovely depiction of the Coathanger! Does it really rain in Sydney so often?

Great atmosphere and inspired flashes of light. It could almost be a view of the Tyne Bridge, at the Quayside, from the bottom of Dene Street, which I believe was based on the design of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. We've seen it too and it was a strangely comforting feeling, it being so like our Bridge.

Thanks Linda - I think I make it rain in Sydney more than it actually does. The photos I took to base my paintings on were actually sunny!

Thanks Marjorie an interesting piece of history that I didn't know.

Dawn rain - George Street. 50x50cm oil on canvas. Painted this evening over another rain painting that hadn't worked. Painting over another painting adds interest as the underpainting. I was interested in just trying to convey the mystery of early morning rain near the bridge.
