How have I missed your postings to date!! They are superb and you have compiled a stunning portfolio. I particularly like Victor Harbour as well as this painting. Skies are wonderful and overall composition second to none. Keep them coming, Mike! Are you in Australia now?

Like Lionel, I love this and the atmosphere you have created Mike, not to mention a beautiful record of a truly historical event. We visited S Australia in 2008 and up near Lake Charm it was so, so dry. Delighted to know that the River is flowing again well enough for this event, and that you had the opportunity to capture it in such a magical way.

I agree with Lionel and Jane, very fine painting.

Great painting Mike, beautifully painted

The light emanating from this painting hits you even in the thumbnail version. Superb work.

Hello Lionel Yes in Adelaide now. Moved from the UK in 1970 I was just 15. thank you for all your comments everyone cheers Mike

Beautiful painting - it looks more like an oil than acrylic with the warm colours. Well done

I Love the light in this one also,as well as all your rainy, atmospheric paintings. Am really enjoying your gallery!

Last weekend boats began to assemble at Milang to partake in the Milang to Goolwa Classic. The event has been impossible the last few years because of low river levels. The river is back and so is Milang, a delightful lake-side town that was in the doldrums has come to life again on Lake Alexandrina. The furthest shore was not visible and it could have been a sea not a lake apart from the colour of the water. The browny-green of the water looked unique and surreal as yachts appeared on the horizon line and came into shore. The holiday cabins on the shore near the jetty presented a happy image that just had to be painted! Nearly 200 boats arrived at Milang and started off on the 50km sail to Goolwa the next day. Sometimes we know how good it is to be alive - often just fleating moments. I have put this one down in paint and hope others can feel that too.
